Opera Alba at Crail Community Hall
“Opera Alba appears courtesy of Classical Musicians Scotland”
Opera Alba was formed at the end of 2004 with the aim of bringing well sung, highly accessible opera to venues around Scotland in an entertaining and enjoyable manner. The four singers and accompanist are delighted to be performing for the first time at Crail.
Each member of the group has extensive experience of appearing on the professional operatic stage and on the concert platform. They enjoy performing together and plan on having as much fun as their audiences!
Opera Alba will provide you with an evening of well sung, well presented and thoroughly enjoyable music from the world of opera. Whether or not you’ve ever been to an opera, you’re in for a treat with Opera Alba. Catriona, Christine, Christian and Steven will perform some of opera’s most favourite tunes, ably accompanied by Derek Clark. There’ll be arias, duets, trios and quartets, all sung in a light, relaxed and engaging style. You’ll enjoy some of opera’s most captivating melodies by Puccini, Verdi, Mozart, Donizetti, Gounod, Bizet, Offenbach et al, sung with a nice mix of informality but with plenty of expertise. The quartet will introduce each number and tell you a little about the background of the characters and their stories.
