The Jellyman’s Daughter at The Rockfield Centre

The Jellyman’s Daughter will be bringing their unique sound to The Rockfield Centre in Oban on Saturday 22nd October 2022.

The Jellyman’s Daughter are Edinburgh-based duo Emily Kelly and Graham Coe.

“Somewhere between the realms of folk, bluegrass, pop, rock and chamber music, Emily Kelly and Graham Coe let go of any sense of trepidation and go on to develop a deeply soulful, break-neck amalgam of old-time and new age roots influences alike.”
Popmatters

Singing with an affinity and closeness that can often have audiences puzzling over who is singing which harmony line, Emily’s honeyed voice and Graham’s soft introspective tone have an almost matching vocal range. Their songs can range from a simple plaintive wisp of a feeling to ambitious musical endeavours incorporating guitar, mandolin and Graham’s often-unconventional cello playing, which can range from powerful, driving rhythmic propulsion to delicate, sonorous underscoring. They are also regularly accompanied by their band which can feature bass, drums and innovative 5-string banjo playing.

Recent years have seen the pair touring internationally in support of their sophomore album Dead Reckoning playing at prestigious festivals from Celtic Connections in Glasgow to Port Fairy Folk Festival in Australia as well as SXSW 2021.

2022 will see them recording their third full length album with plans to release in 2023.
